Here's How to Do It

Method 1

Step 1: Find the company email pattern

If the information for the person you want to connect with is not readily available, we might have to do a bit of dirty work to start off with.The best place to start is to find the company email pattern.If you fool around on the company website, you may be able to come up with someone from the company’s email address.

Step 2: Plugin the name of the person

This random email address may not be the one we want, but it is still a good thing. We can take the pattern of that email, and insert the name of the person you areFor example, i can change tom.brady@patriots.com (firstname.lastname@company.com) to Bill.Belichick@patriots.com to find the guy i am looking for.

Step 3: Verify the email address with Rapportive or Sidekick.

This method is just to verify that this address is being used by the person.Rapportive: Verifies email addresses that are linked to a LinkedIn accountIf it matches, it will show a LinkedIn profile and a brief profile.Like this:

SideKick: Verifies email based on Social Media profilesIf it matches, it will show a profile with links to twitter and/or facebook page and company website.Like this:

If either or both of these hit, you are a LOCK!

Method 2

Step 1: Get the Email Format Generator

This is a Google Sheet from heaven that i use to generate the most probable company email structures. With this puppy, you have a great shot that one of them will be the money-maker.This is what it looks like:

Step 2: Plug-in the Person’s information

Just plug in the VIPs first and last name - and if you have their middle name, throw that in there too. The only other thing you need to add is the company domain.Then let it work its magic.

It will deliver 45+ different possible email structures.

Step 3: Test the email patterns with a mail verifier

My favorite is Mailtester.com

When you have a match the box will light up with all Green.If the domain or email name is not valid, it will show in red with an error message. This means you need to do a bit more troubleshooting in order to find the correct address.

Step 4: Final Verification with Rapportive or Sidekick

Repeat the Step 3 from Method 1.
